Conduct

Students are expected to be courteous and respectful to everyone including teaching and support staff, parents/guardians and other students. School is a place of learning and any behaviour that interferes with this purpose will not be tolerated. Misconduct will be dealt with by the teacher and/or principal. If the misconduct is severe or persistent, parental co-operation consistent with the aims of the school is expected.

If disruption or misbehaviour occurs in the classroom or on the school grounds, the student will be removed from the classroom and/or isolated from the rest of the school. Parents/guardians may be called to take the student home, with a parent/guardian and school planning conference required before re-admission.

Mount Alvernia Preparatory School and Kindergarten assumes that parents share in the responsibility for the proper conduct of their child(ren). The principal is authorized by the Board of Directors to suspend a student for up to three (3) days for serious misbehavior or infraction of rules. It is expected that students adhere to socially acceptable standards of conduct.
